The prophet lifted up the body of the man of God and put it on the donkey, and brought him back to the city to mourn and to bury him.

He went off and found the body sprawled on the road with the donkey and the lion standing beside it. The lion had not eaten the body nor had it harmed the donkey.

He laid the man’s body in his own grave, and they mourned over it: “Alas, my brother!”

“Let him be,” he said, “let no one move his bones.” So they left his bones undisturbed together with the bones of the prophet who had come from Samaria.

When his disciples heard about it, they came and took his body and laid it in a tomb. The Return of the Twelve.
