David summoned the priests Zadok and Abiathar, and the Levites Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab,

of the sons of Gershon, Joel, their chief, and one hundred and thirty of his brothers;

To the Gershonites belonged Ladan and Shimei.

The sons of Shimei were Shelomoth, Haziel, and Haran; three. These were the heads of the families of Ladan.

Among the sons of Ladan the Gershonite, the family heads were sons of Jehiel:

Those who had precious stones gave them into the keeping of Jehiel the Gershonite for the treasury of the house of the Lord.
