The following men came to David in Ziklag while he was still under banishment from Saul, son of Kish; they, too, were among the warriors who helped him in his battles.

After the death of Saul, David returned from his victory over the Amalekites and stayed in Ziklag two days.

David also brought up his men with their families, and they dwelt in the towns of Hebron.
