Ordo you not know,brethren(for I am speakingto those who knowthe law),that the lawhas jurisdiction overa personas longas he lives?
For sinshall not be master overyou, for you are not underlawbut undergrace.
But nowwe have been releasedfrom the Law,having diedto that by whichwe were bound,sothat we servein newnessof the Spiritand not in oldnessof the letter.
Ordo you not knowthat all of us whohave been baptizedinto ChristJesushave been baptizedinto His death?
Brethren,my heart'sdesireand my prayerto Godfor them is for [their] salvation.
For the commandmentis a lampand the teachingis light;And reproofsfor disciplineare the wayof life
Tellme, you who wantto be underlaw,do you not listento the law?
For I could wishthat I myselfwere accursed,[separated] from Christfor the sakeof my brethren,my kinsmenaccordingto the flesh,
I am not speakingthese thingsaccordingto human judgment,am I? Ordoes not the Lawalsosaythese things?
I do not wantyou to be unaware,brethren,that oftenI have plannedto cometo you (and have been preventedsofar)sothat I may obtainsomefruitamongyou also,evenas amongthe restof the Gentiles.
"You, Ezra,according to the wisdomof your Godwhichis in your hand,appointmagistratesand judgesthat they may judgeallthe peoplewhoare in [the province] beyondthe River,[even] allthose who knowthe lawsof your God;and you may teachanyone whois ignorant[of them].
