The nationsrumbleon like the rumblingof manywaters,But He will rebukethem and they will fleefaraway,And be chasedlike chaffin the mountainsbeforethe wind,Or like whirlingdustbeforea gale.
For Tophethhas longbeen ready,Indeed,it has been preparedfor the king.He has madeit deepand large,A pyreof firewith plentyof wood;The breathof the LORD,like a torrentof brimstone,setsit afire.
For wickednessburnslike a fire;It consumesbriarsand thorns;It even setsthe thicketsof the forestaflameAnd they rollupwardin a columnof smoke.
Liketangledthorns,And like those who are drunkenwith their drink,They are consumedAs stubblecompletelywithered.
Whocan standbeforeHis indignation?Whocan endurethe burningof His anger?His wrathis pouredout like fireAnd the rocksare brokenup by Him.
"For behold,the dayis coming,burninglike a furnace;and allthe arrogantand everyevildoerwill be chaff;and the daythat is comingwill setthem ablaze,"saysthe LORDof hosts,"sothat it will leavethem neitherrootnorbranch."
For a fireis kindledin My anger,And burnsto the lowestpartof Sheol,And consumesthe earthwith its yield,And setson firethe foundationsof the mountains.
