Therefore, though I haveenoughconfidencein Christto orderyou [to do] whatis proper,
For evenifI boastsomewhatfurtheraboutour authority, whichthe Lordgavefor buildingyou up and not for destroyingyou, I will not be put to shame,
To [my] shameI [must] saythat we have been weak[by comparison]. But in whateverrespect anyone[else] is bold--I speakin foolishness--I amjustas boldmyself.
Thereforehavingsucha hope,we usegreatboldness in [our] speech,
and [there must be no] filthinessand silly talk, orcoarse jesting, whichare not fitting, but rathergiving of thanks.
but after we had already sufferedand been mistreatedin Philippi,as you know,we had the boldnessin our Godto speakto you the gospelof Godamidmuchopposition.
nordid we seekgloryfrom men, eitherfrom you orfrom others, even though as apostlesof Christwe might have assertedour authority.
