So they eachtookhis [own] censerand putfireon it, and laidincenseon it; and they stoodat the doorwayof the tentof meeting,with Mosesand Aaron.
But when he becamestrong,his heartwas so proudthat he actedcorruptly,and he was unfaithfulto the LORDhis God,for he enteredthe templeof the LORDto burnincenseon the altarof incense.
"He shall takea firepanfullof coalsof firefrom upon the altarbeforethe LORDand two handfulsof finelygroundsweetincense,and bring[it] insidethe veil.
"He shall putthe incenseon the firebeforethe LORD,that the cloudof incensemay coverthe mercyseatthat is on [the ark of] the testimony,otherwisehe will die.
"Eachof you takehis firepanand putincenseon it, and eachof you bringhis censerbeforethe LORD,two hundredand fiftyfirepans;also you and Aaron[shall] each[bring] his firepan."
Thus Korahassembledallthe congregationagainstthem at the doorwayof the tentof meeting.And the gloryof the LORDappearedto allthe congregation.
"Sayto Eleazar,the sonof Aaronthe priest,that he shall takeup the censersout of the midstof the blaze,for they are holy;and you scatterthe burningcoalsabroad.
He tookhis standbetweenthe deadand the living,so that the plaguewas checked.
