And Jesussaidto them, "The attendantsof the bridegroomcannotmournas longas the bridegroomis with them, can they? But the dayswill comewhenthe bridegroomis taken awayfrom them, and thenthey will fast.
Therefore in that daythe LordGODof hostscalled[you] to weeping,to wailing,To shavingthe headand to wearingsackcloth.
Thenthe disciplesof Johncameto Him, asking,"Whydo we and the Phariseesfast,but Your disciplesdo not fast?"
"But no oneputsa patchof unshrunkclothon an oldgarment;for the patchpulls awayfrom the garment,and a worsetearresults.
And Jesussaidto them, "Whilethe bridegroomis with them, the attendantsof the bridegroomcannotfast,can they? Solongas they havethe bridegroomwith them, they cannotfast.
"But the dayswill comewhenthe bridegroomis taken awayfrom them, and thenthey will fastin that day.
And He saidto the disciples,"The dayswill comewhenyou will longto seeoneof the daysof the Sonof Man,and you will not seeit.
And Jesussaidto them, "You cannotmakethe attendantsof the bridegroomfastwhilethe bridegroomis with them, can you?
"But [the] dayswill come;and whenthe bridegroomis taken awayfrom them, thenthey will fastin thosedays."
"But becauseI have saidthese thingsto you, sorrowhas filledyour heart.
"He who hasthe brideis the bridegroom;but the friendof the bridegroom,who standsand hearshim, rejoicesgreatlybecauseof the bridegroom'svoice.Sothisjoyof minehas been made full.
When they had appointedeldersfor them in everychurch,having prayedwith fasting,they commendedthem to the Lordin whomthey had believed.
Stopdeprivingone another,exceptby agreementfor a time,sothat you may devote yourselvesto prayer,and cometogetheragainsothat Satanwill not temptyou becauseof your lack of self-control.
[I have been] in laborand hardship,throughmanysleepless nights,in hungerand thirst,oftenwithout food,in coldand exposure.
Thenhe saidto me, "Write,Blessedare thosewho are invitedto the marriagesupperof the Lamb.'"And he saidto me, "Theseare true wordsof God."
And I sawthe holycity,newJerusalem,coming downout of heavenfrom God,made readyas a brideadornedfor her husband.
