"Ifyour righthandmakes you stumble,cut it offand throwit from you; for it is betterfor you to lose oneof the partsof your body, thanfor your wholebodyto gointo hell.

yethe hasno[firm] rootin himself,but is [only] temporary,and when afflictionorpersecutionarisesbecauseof the word,immediatelyhe falls away.
But He turnedand saidto Peter,"GetbehindMe, Satan!You are a stumbling blockto Me; for you are not setting your mindon God'sinterests, but man's."
"However,sothat we do not offendthem, goto the seaand throwin a hook,and takethe firstfishthat comesup; and when you openits mouth,you will finda shekel.Takethat and giveit to them for you and Me."

"But I sayto you that everyonewho is angrywith his brothershall be guiltybefore the court;and whoeversaysto his brother,You good-for-nothing,'shall be guiltybefore the supreme court;and whoeversays,'You fool,'shall be guilty[enough to go] into the fieryhell.

"But I will warnyou whomto fear:fearthe One who, afterHe has killed,hasauthorityto castinto hell;yes,I tellyou, fearHim!
"It would be betterfor him ifa millstonewere hungaroundhis neckand he were throwninto the sea,thanthat he would causeoneof theselittle onesto stumble.
justas it is written,"BEHOLD,I LAYIN ZIONA STONEOF STUMBLINGAND A ROCKOF OFFENSE,AND HE WHO BELIEVESIN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED."
Therefore,iffoodcausesmy brotherto stumble,I will nevereatmeatagain, sothat I will not causemy brotherto stumble.
But I, brethren,ifI stillpreachcircumcision,whyam I stillpersecuted?Thenthe stumbling blockof the crosshas been abolished.
and, "A STONEOF STUMBLINGAND A ROCKOF OFFENSE";for they stumblebecause they are disobedientto the word,and to this[doom] they were alsoappointed.
