And when they had assembledwith the eldersand consultedtogether,they gavea large sumof moneyto the soldiers,
But the Phariseeswentout and conspiredagainstHim, [as to] howthey might destroyHim.
Nowwhile they were on their way,someof the guardcameinto the cityand reportedto the chief priestsallthat had happened.
and said, "You are to say,'His disciplescameby nightand stole Him awaywhile we were asleep.'
Thereforethe chief priestsand the Phariseesconveneda council,and were saying,"Whatare we doing?For thismanis performingmanysigns.
They took his advice;and after callingthe apostlesin, they floggedthem and orderedthem not to speakin the nameof Jesus,and [then] releasedthem.
