At that timethey were holdinga notoriousprisoner,calledBarabbas.
The man namedBarabbashad beenimprisonedwith the insurrectionistswhohad committedmurderin the insurrection.
and although they knowthe ordinanceof God,that thosewho practicesuch thingsare worthyof death,they not onlydothe same,but alsogive hearty approvalto thosewho practicethem.

Sothey criedout again,saying,"Not this Man,but Barabbas."NowBarabbaswas a robber.
And he releasedthe man they were askingfor who had been throwninto prisonfor insurrectionand murder,but he deliveredJesusto their will.
Nowat [the] feastthe governorwas accustomedto releasefor the people[any] oneprisonerwhomthey wanted.
Sowhen the peoplegathered together,Pilatesaidto them, "Whomdo you wantme to releasefor you? Barabbas,orJesuswho is calledChrist?"
