Jesus said,"Are you stilllacking in understandingalso?
"Have you understoodallthese things?"They saidto Him, "Yes."
After Jesus calledthe crowdto Him, He saidto them, "Hearand understand.
Petersaidto Him, "Explainthe parableto us."
"Do you not understandthat everythingthat goesinto the mouthpassesinto the stomach,and is eliminated?
"Howis it that you do not understandthat I did not speakto you concerningbread?But bewareof the leavenof the Phariseesand Sadducees."
"Do you not yetunderstandorrememberthe fiveloavesof the five thousand,and how manybaskets[full] you pickedup?
for they had not gained any insightfrom the [incident of] the loaves,but their heartwas hardened.
And He saidto them, "Are you solacking in understandingalso?Do you not understandthat whatevergoesinto the manfrom outsidecannotdefilehim,
But they did not understand[this] statement,and they were afraidto askHim.
But the disciples understoodnoneof these things, and [the meaning of] thisstatementwas hiddenfrom them, and they did not comprehendthe things that were said.
ThenHe openedtheir mindsto understandthe Scriptures,
But they did not understandthisstatement,and it was concealedfrom them sothat they would not perceiveit; and they were afraidto askHim aboutthisstatement.
For thoughby thistimeyou oughtto be teachers,you haveneedagainfor someoneto teachyou the elementaryprinciplesof the oraclesof God,and you have cometo needmilkand not solidfood.
