When it was evening,the disciplescameto Him and said,"Thisplaceis desolateand the houris alreadylate;sosendthe crowdsaway,that they may gointo the villagesand buyfoodfor themselves."
Nowwhen Jesusheard[about John], He withdrewfrom therein a boatto a secludedplaceby Himself;and when the peopleheard[of this], they followedHim on footfrom the cities.
When He went ashore,He sawa largecrowd,and felt compassionfor them and healedtheir sick.
But Jesussaidto them, "They do not needto go away;you givethem [something] to eat!"
But He did not answerher a word.And His disciplescameand imploredHim, saying,"Send her away,becauseshe keeps shoutingat us."
"IfI send them awayhungryto their homes,they will fainton the way;and someof them have comefrom a great distance."
Now the daywas ending,and the twelvecameand saidto Him, "Sendthe crowdaway,that they may gointo the surroundingvillagesand countrysideand find lodgingand getsomething to eat;for herewe are in a desolateplace."
