When they came[back] to the disciples,they sawa largecrowdaroundthem, and [some] scribesarguingwith them.
and [began] sayingto Him, "By whatauthorityare You doingthese things,orwhogaveYou thisauthorityto dothese things?"
They cameand saidto Him, "Teacher,we knowthat You are truthfuland deferto no one;for You are not partialto any,but teachthe wayof Godin truth.Is it lawfulto paya poll-taxto Caesar,ornot?
But someof the scribeswere sittingthereand reasoningin their hearts,
"But I sayto you that Elijahhas indeedcome,and they didto him whateverthey wished,justas it is writtenof him."
And he enteredthe synagogueand continued speaking out boldlyfor threemonths,reasoningand persuading[them] aboutthe kingdomof God.
For considerHim who has enduredsuchhostilityby sinnersagainstHimself,sothat you will not grow wearyand loseheart.
