But Johntried to preventHim, saying,"I haveneedto be baptizedby You, and do You cometo me?"
Johnwas clothedwith camel'shairand [wore] a leatherbeltaroundhis waist,and his dietwas locustsand wildhoney.
"I baptizedyou with water;but He will baptizeyou with the HolySpirit."

"[It is] He who comesafterme, the thongof whosesandalI amnot worthyto untie."
"And whileJohnwas completinghis course,he kept saying,'Whatdo you supposethat I am?I amnot [He]. But behold,one is comingafterme the sandalsof whosefeetI amnot worthyto untie.'
Paulsaid,"Johnbaptizedwith the baptismof repentance,tellingthe peopleto believein Him who was comingafterhim, that is, in Jesus."
She aroseand bowedwith her faceto the groundand said,"Behold,your maidservantis a maidto washthe feetof my lord'sservants."
