The sonsof Joseph,Manassehand Ephraim,receivedtheir inheritance.
He namedthe secondEphraim,"For," [he said], "Godhas mademe fruitfulin the landof my affliction."
Thussaysthe LordGOD,"This[shall be] the boundaryby whichyou shall dividethe landfor an inheritanceamong the twelvetribesof Israel;Joseph[shall have] twoportions.
For the sonsof Josephwere twotribes,Manassehand Ephraim,and they did not givea portionto the Levitesin the land,exceptcitiesto livein, with their pasturelandsfor their livestockand for their property.
Now [this] was the territoryof the sonsof Ephraimaccording to their families:the borderof their inheritanceeastwardwas Ataroth-addar,as faras upperBeth-horon.
Then the sonsof Josephspoketo Joshua,saying,"Whyhave you givenme only onelotand oneportionfor an inheritance,since I am a numerouspeoplewhomthe LORDhas thusfarblessed?"
"They shall divideit into sevenportions;Judahshall stayin its territoryon the south,and the houseof Josephshall stayin their territoryon the north.
