The LORDsaid,"Do you have goodreasonto be angry?"
Then the LORDsaidto Cain,"Whyare you angry?And whyhas your countenancefallen?
So Ahabcameinto his housesullenand vexedbecauseof the wordwhichNaboththe Jezreelitehad spokento him; for he said,"I will not giveyou the inheritanceof my fathers."And he laydownon his bedand turnedawayhis faceand atenofood.
"[Beware] that wrathdoes not enticeyou to scoffing;And do not let the greatnessof the ransomturnyou aside.
But it greatlydispleasedJonahand he becameangry.
"Therefore now,O LORD,pleasetakemy lifefrom me, for deathis betterto me thanlife."
Then Jonahwentout from the cityand sateastof it. Therehe madea shelterfor himself and satunderit in the shadeuntilhe could seewhatwould happenin the city.
Then Godsaidto Jonah,"Do you have goodreasonto be angryaboutthe plant?"And he said,"I have goodreasonto be angry,even to death."
"My people,whathave I doneto you, And howhave I weariedyou? AnswerMe.
"Aaronwill be gatheredto his people;for he shall not enterthe landwhichI have givento the sonsof Israel,becauseyou rebelledagainstMy commandat the watersof Meribah.
Is it not lawfulfor me to dowhatI wishwith whatis my own?Oris your eyeenviousbecauseI amgenerous?'
