While He was in Bethanyat the homeof Simonthe leper,and reclining[at the table], there camea womanwith an alabastervialof very costlyperfumeof purenard;[and] she brokethe vialand poured it overHis head.
When the Lordsawher, He felt compassionfor her, and saidto her, "Do not weep."
Summoningtwoof his disciples,Johnsentthem to the Lord,saying,"Are You the ExpectedOne, ordo we lookfor someone else?"
Marthathensaidto Jesus,"Lord,ifYou had beenhere,my brotherwould not have died.
Sothe sisterssent[word] to Him, saying,"Lord,behold,he whomYou loveis sick."
Therefore,whenMarycamewhereJesuswas, she sawHim, and fellat His feet,sayingto Him, "Lord,ifYou had beenhere,my brotherwould not have died."
Marythentooka poundof very costlyperfumeof purenard,and anointedthe feetof Jesusand wipedHis feetwith her hair;and the housewas filledwith the fragranceof the perfume.
"You callMe Teacherand Lord;and you are right,for [so] I am.
"IfI then,the Lordand the Teacher,washedyour feet,you alsooughtto washone another'sfeet.
