But as manyas receivedHim, to them He gavethe rightto becomechildrenof God,[even] to thosewho believein His name,
JohntestifiedaboutHim and criedout, saying,"Thiswas He of whomI said,He who comesafterme hasa higher rankthan I, for He existedbeforeme.'"
Thisis the testimonyof John,whenthe Jewssentto him priestsand Levitesfrom Jerusalemto askhim, "Whoare you?"
and he lookedat Jesusas He walked,and said,"Behold,the Lambof God!"
There was the true Lightwhich,cominginto the world,enlightenseveryman.
Paulsaid,"Johnbaptizedwith the baptismof repentance,tellingthe peopleto believein Him who was comingafterhim, that is, in Jesus."
For you are allsonsof Godthroughfaithin ChristJesus.
and to bring to lightwhatis the administrationof the mysterywhich for ageshas been hiddenin Godwho createdall things;
whodesiresallmento be savedand to cometo the knowledgeof the truth.
For the graceof Godhas appeared,bringing salvationto allmen,
The Lordis not slowabout His promise,as somecountslowness,but is patienttowardyou, not wishingfor anyto perishbut for allto cometo repentance.
