"Whereis the wayto the dwellingof light?And darkness,whereis its place,
"He has inscribeda circleon the surfaceof the watersAt the boundaryof lightand darkness.
"Have you understoodthe expanseof the earth?Tell[Me], ifyou knowallthis.
That you may takeit to its territoryAnd that you may discernthe pathsto its home?
You appointdarknessand it becomesnight,In which allthe beastsof the forestprowlabout.
He sentdarknessand made[it] dark;And they did not rebelagainstHis words.
He madedarknessHis hidingplace,His canopyaroundHim, Darknessof waters,thickcloudsof the skies.
The One forminglightand creatingdarkness,Causingwell-beingand creatingcalamity;I am the LORDwho doesallthese.
Givegloryto the LORDyour God,BeforeHe bringsdarknessAnd beforeyour feetstumbleOn the duskymountains,And while you are hopingfor lightHe makesit into deepdarkness,[And] turns[it] into gloom.
"Allthe shininglightsin the heavensI will darkenoveryou And will setdarknesson your land,"Declaresthe LordGOD.
For behold,He who formsmountainsand createsthe windAnd declaresto manwhatare His thoughts,He who makesdawninto darknessAnd treadson the highplacesof the earth,The LORDGodof hostsis His name.
Nowfrom the sixthhourdarknessfellupon allthe landuntilthe ninthhour.
There was the true Lightwhich,cominginto the world,enlightenseveryman.
ThenJesusagainspoketo them, saying,"I amthe Lightof the world;he who followsMe will not walkin the darkness,but will havethe Lightof life."
"And [beware] not to liftup your eyesto heavenand seethe sunand the moonand the stars,allthe hostof heaven,and be drawnawayand worshipthem and servethem, those whichthe LORDyour Godhas allottedto allthe peoplesunderthe wholeheaven.
