And Abrahamsaidto God,"Ohthat Ishmaelmight livebeforeYou!"
"For the promiseis for you and your childrenand for allwhoare far off,as manyas the Lordour Godwill callto Himself."
As for me, You upholdme in my integrity,And You setme in Your presenceforever.
Manyare saying,"Whowill showus [any] good?"Liftup the lightof Your countenanceupon us, O LORD!
and I will givethem oneheartand oneway,that they may fearMe always,for their own goodand for [the good of] their childrenafterthem.
But your iniquitieshave madea separationbetweenyou and your God,And your sinshave hidden[His] facefrom you sothat He does not hear.
"Behold,You have drivenme this dayfrom the faceof the ground;and from Your faceI will be hidden,and I will be a vagrantand a wandereron the earth,and whoeverfindsme will killme."
"Whenyou cultivatethe ground,it will nolongeryieldits strengthto you; you will be a vagrantand a wandereron the earth."
Then Abrahamfellon his faceand laughed,and saidin his heart,"Will a child be bornto a manone hundredyearsold?And will Sarah,who is ninetyyearsold,bear[a child]?"
But Godsaid,"No,but Sarahyour wifewill bearyou a son,and you shall callhis nameIsaac;and I will establishMy covenantwith him for an everlastingcovenantfor his descendantsafterhim.
The matterdistressedAbrahamgreatlybecauseof his son.
