"Ifa mangiveshis neighbora donkey,an ox,a sheep,oranyanimalto keep[for him], and it diesoris hurtoris drivenawaywhile nooneis looking,
"But ifit is actuallystolenfrom him, he shall makerestitutionto its owner.
"Ifthe thiefis not caught,then the ownerof the houseshall appearbeforethe judges,[to] determine whetherhe laidhis handson his neighbor'sproperty.
"You shall not beara false report;do not joinyour handwith a wickedmanto be a maliciouswitness.
That I not be fulland deny[You] and say,"Whois the LORD?"Or that I not be in wantand steal,And profanethe nameof my God.

Now ifa personsinsafter he hearsa publicadjuration[to testify] when he is a witness,whetherhe has seenor[otherwise] known,ifhe does not tell[it], then he will bearhis guilt.
orhas foundwhatwas lostand liedabout it and swornfalsely,so that he sinsin regardto anyoneof the things a manmay do;
For menswearby one greater[than themselves], and with them an oath[given] as confirmationis an endof everydispute.
