then you shall cutoffher hand;you shall not showpity.
"But you shall surelykillhim; your handshall be firstagainst him to puthim to death,and afterwardsthe handof allthe people.
"You shall not pityhim, but you shall purgethe bloodof the innocentfrom Israel,that it may gowellwith you.
"Thus you shall not showpity:lifefor life,eyefor eye,toothfor tooth,handfor hand,footfor foot.
"If[two] men,a manand his countryman,are strugglingtogether,and the wifeof onecomesnearto deliverher husbandfrom the handof the one who is strikinghim, and putsout her handand seizeshis genitals,
and when the LORDyour Goddeliversthem beforeyou and you defeatthem, then you shall utterlydestroythem. You shall makenocovenantwith them and shownofavorto them.
