for Herodwas afraidof John,knowingthat he was a righteousand holyman,and he kept him safe.And when he heardhim, he was veryperplexed;but he used to enjoylisteningto him.
Zaccheus was tryingto seewhoJesuswas, and was unablebecauseof the crowd,for he was smallin stature.
NowHerodwas verygladwhen he sawJesus;for he hadwantedto seeHim for a longtime,becausehe had been hearingaboutHim and was hopingto seesomesignperformedby Him.
They said,"Believein the LordJesus,and you will be saved,you and your household."

neverthelessknowingthat a manis not justifiedby the worksof the Lawbut throughfaithin ChristJesus,evenwe have believedin ChristJesus,sothat we may be justifiedby faithin Christand not by the worksof the Law;sinceby the worksof the Lawnofleshwill be justified.
"I have been crucifiedwith Christ;and it is no longerI who live,but Christlivesin me; and the [life] whichI nowlivein the fleshI liveby faithin the Sonof God,who lovedme and gaveHimselfup for me.
Thisis the only thingI wantto findout from you: did you receivethe Spiritby the worksof the Law,orby hearingwith faith?
Whoeverbelievesthat Jesusis the Christis bornof God,and whoeverlovesthe Fatherlovesthe [child] bornof Him.
Beloved,while I was makingeveryeffortto writeyou aboutour commonsalvation,I feltthe necessityto writeto you appealingthat you contend earnestlyfor the faithwhich was once for allhanded downto the saints.
Hereis the perseveranceof the saintswho keepthe commandmentsof Godand their faithin Jesus.
