For, behold,the wickedbendthe bow,They makereadytheir arrowupon the stringTo shootin darknessat the uprightin heart.
The captainof fiftyand the honorableman, The counselorand the expertartisan,And the skillfulenchanter.
On an appointeddayHerod,having puton his royalapparel,took his seaton the rostrumand [began] delivering an addressto them.
Whenthe sevendayswere almostover,the Jewsfrom Asia,upon seeinghim in the temple,[began] to stirup allthe crowdand laidhandson him,
The high priestAnaniascommandedthosestanding besidehim to strikehim on the mouth.
[They were] alsoto providemountsto putPaulon and bring him safelyto Felixthe governor.
"When I was informedthat there would be a plotagainstthe man,I senthim to you at once,alsoinstructinghis accusersto bring chargesagainsthim beforeyou."
When thesehad cometo Caesareaand deliveredthe letterto the governor,they alsopresentedPaulto him.
he said,"I will give you a hearingafteryour accusersarrivealso,"giving ordersfor him to be keptin Herod'sPraetorium.
since you cantake noteof the factthat nomorethan twelvedaysagoI wentup to Jerusalemto worship.
After [Paul] had been summoned,Tertullusbeganto accusehim, saying[to the governor], "Since we have throughyou attainedmuchpeace,and since by your providencereformsare being carriedout for thisnation,
and when I was at Jerusalem,the chief priestsand the eldersof the Jewsbrought chargesagainsthim, askingfor a sentence of condemnationagainsthim.
And the chief priestsand the leading menof the Jewsbrought chargesagainstPaul,and they were urginghim,
And when I cameto you, brethren,I did not comewith superiorityof speechorof wisdom,proclaimingto you the testimonyof God.
and my messageand my preachingwere not in persuasivewordsof wisdom,but in demonstrationof the Spiritand of power,
