And he was reasoningin the synagogueeverySabbathand trying to persuadeJewsand Greeks.
"May GodenlargeJapheth,And let him dwellin the tentsof Shem;And let Canaanbe his servant."
Is not Hezekiahmisleadingyou to giveyourselves over to dieby hungerand by thirst,saying,"The LORDour Godwill deliverus from the handof the kingof Assyria"?
"But he saidto him, 'Ifthey do not listento Mosesand the Prophets,they will not be persuadedevenifsomeonerisesfrom the dead.'"
And He cameto Nazareth,whereHe had beenbroughtup; and as was His custom,He enteredthe synagogueon the Sabbath,and stoodup to read.
The Jewsthensaidto one another,"Wheredoes this manintendto gothat we will not findHim? He is not intendingto goto the Dispersionamong the Greeks,and teachthe Greeks,is He?
But goingon from Perga,they arrivedat PisidianAntioch,and on the Sabbathdaythey wentinto the synagogueand sat down.
In Iconiumthey enteredthe synagogueof the Jewstogether,and spokein such a mannerthat a largenumber of peoplebelieved,bothof Jewsand of Greeks.
Nowthesewere more noble-mindedthan thosein Thessalonica,for they receivedthe wordwith greateagerness,examiningthe Scripturesdaily[to see] whetherthese thingswere so.
Sohe was reasoningin the synagoguewith the Jewsand the God-fearing[Gentiles], and in the market placeeverydaywith thosewho happened to be present.
saying,"This manpersuadesmento worshipGodcontraryto the law."
They cameto Ephesus,and he leftthem there.Nowhe himselfenteredthe synagogueand reasonedwith the Jews.
"You seeand hearthat not onlyin Ephesus,but in almostallof Asia,thisPaulhas persuadedand turned awaya considerablenumber of people,sayingthat gods madewith handsare nogods[at all].
And he enteredthe synagogueand continued speaking out boldlyfor threemonths,reasoningand persuading[them] aboutthe kingdomof God.
Agrippa[replied] to Paul,"In a short timeyou will persuademe to becomea Christian."
When they had seta dayfor Paul, they cameto him at his lodgingin large numbers;and he was explainingto them by solemnly testifyingabout the kingdomof Godand trying to persuadethem concerningJesus,from boththe Lawof Mosesand from the Prophets,from morninguntilevening.
and immediatelyhe [began] to proclaimJesusin the synagogues,saying,"He is the Sonof God."
Therefore,knowingthe fearof the Lord,we persuademen,but we are mademanifestto God;and I hopethat we are made manifestalsoin your consciences.
