For the wrathof manshall praiseYou; With a remnantof wrathYou will girdYourself.
"You shall observethe Feastof UnleavenedBread;for sevendaysyou are to eatunleavenedbread,as I commandedyou, at the appointedtimein the monthAbib,for in it you cameout of Egypt.And noneshall appearbeforeMe empty-handed.
Nowon the first[day] of UnleavenedBread the disciplescameto Jesusand asked,"Wheredo You wantus to preparefor You to eatthe Passover?"
for they lovedthe approvalof menratherthanthe approvalof God.
Jesusanswered,"You would havenoauthorityoverMe, unlessit had beengivenyou from above;for thisreasonhe who deliveredMe to you has[the] greatersin."
"Truly,truly,I sayto you, whenyou were younger,you used to girdyourselfand walkwhereveryou wished;but whenyou grow old,you will stretchout your handsand someone elsewill girdyou, and bringyou whereyou do not wishto [go]."
When he had seizedhim, he puthim in prison,deliveringhim to foursquadsof soldiersto guardhim, intendingafterthe Passoverto bringhim out before the people.
But Peter,taking his standwith the eleven,raisedhis voiceand declaredto them: "Menof Judeaand allyou who livein Jerusalem,let thisbe knownto you and give heedto my words.
We sailedfrom Philippiafterthe daysof UnleavenedBread, and cameto them at Troaswithinfivedays;and therewe stayedsevendays.
But after two yearshad passed,Felixwas succeededby PorciusFestus,and wishingto dothe Jewsa favor,FelixleftPaulimprisoned.
But Festus,wishingto dothe Jewsa favor,answeredPauland said,"Are you willingto goup to Jerusalemand stand trialbeforeme on these[charges]?"
Nowas they observedthe confidenceof Peterand Johnand understoodthat they were uneducatedand untrainedmen,they were amazed,and [began] to recognizethem as having beenwith Jesus.
For am I nowseeking the favorof men,orof God?Oram I strivingto pleasemen?IfI were stilltrying to pleasemen,I would not be a bond-servantof Christ.
but justas we have been approvedby Godto be entrustedwith the gospel,sowe speak,not as pleasingmen,but Godwho examinesour hearts.
