Aboutthe ninthhourof the dayhe clearlysawin a visionan angelof Godwho had [just] comein and saidto him, "Cornelius!"
Eveningand morningand at noon,I will complainand murmur,And He will hearmy voice.
The LORDsaidto Moses,"I will alsodothisthingof whichyou have spoken;for you have foundfavorin My sightand I have knownyou by name."
"For the sakeof JacobMy servant,And IsraelMy chosen[one], I have also calledyou by your name;I have givenyou a titleof honorThough you have not knownMe.
Aboutthe ninthhourJesuscriedout with a loudvoice,saying,"ELI,ELI,LAMASABACHTHANI?"that is, "MY GOD,MY GOD,WHYHAVE YOU FORSAKENME?"
And an angelof the Lordappearedto him, standingto the rightof the altarof incense.
And suddenlythere appearedwith the angela multitudeof the heavenlyhostpraisingGodand saying,
NowwhilePeterwas greatly perplexedin mindas to whatthe visionwhichhe had seenmight be, behold,the menwho had been sentby Cornelius,having asked directionsfor Simon'shouse,appearedat the gate;
While Peterwas reflectingon the vision,the Spiritsaidto him, "Behold,threemenare lookingfor you.
Corneliussaid,"Fourdaysagoto thishour,I was prayingin my houseduring the ninth hour;and behold,a manstoodbeforeme in shininggarments,
On the next day,as they were on their wayand approachingthe city,Peterwentup on the housetopaboutthe sixthhourto pray.
"And he reportedto us howhe had seenthe angelstandingin his house,and saying,'Sendto Joppaand have Simon,who is also calledPeter,brought here;
"For thisvery nightan angelof the Godto whomI belongand whomI servestood beforeme,
NowPeterand Johnwere goingup to the templeat the ninth[hour], the hourof prayer.
But duringthe nightan angelof the Lordopenedthe gatesof the prison,and takingthem out he said,
Nowthere was a discipleat DamascusnamedAnanias;and the Lordsaidto him in a vision,"Ananias."And he said,"HereI am, Lord."
and he fellto the groundand hearda voicesayingto him, "Saul,Saul,whyare you persecutingMe?"
Are they not allministeringspirits,sentout to render servicefor the sakeof thosewho willinheritsalvation?
having becomeas muchbetterthan the angels,as He has inheriteda more excellentnamethanthey.
