Now thesewere the sonsof Davidwhowere bornto him in Hebron:the firstborn[was] Amnon,by Ahinoamthe Jezreelitess;the second[was] Daniel,by Abigailthe Carmelitess;
All[these were] the sonsof David,besidesthe sonsof the concubines;and Tamar[was] their sister.
But Abijahbecamepowerful;and tookfourteenwivesto himself, and becamethe fatherof twenty-twosonsand sixteendaughters.
"He shall not multiplywivesfor himself, orelsehis heartwill turnaway;norshall he greatlyincreasesilverand goldfor himself.
Davidhad also takenAhinoamof Jezreel,and they bothbecamehis wives.
