The one who believesin the Sonof Godhasthe testimonyin himself;the one who does not believeGodhas madeHim a liar,becausehe has not believedin the testimonythat Godhas givenconcerningHis Son.
"Now ifit is not so,whocan proveme a liar,And makemy speechworthless?"
The secretof the LORDis for those who fearHim, And He will make them knowHis covenant.
For the deviousare an abominationto the LORD;But He is intimatewith the upright.
Whohas believedour message?And to whomhas the armof the LORDbeen revealed?
Whyhas my painbeenperpetualAnd my woundincurable,refusingto be healed?Will You indeedbe to me likea deceptive[stream] With waterthat is unreliable?
"Godis not a man,that He should lie,Nora sonof man,that He should repent;Has He said,and will He not doit? Or has He spoken,and will He not makeit good?
"For Godsolovedthe world,that He gaveHis only begottenSon,that whoeverbelievesin Him shall not perish,but haveeternallife.
"He who believesin Him is not judged;he who does not believehas been judgedalready,becausehe has not believedin the nameof the only begottenSonof God.
"He who has receivedHis testimonyhas set his sealto [this], that Godis true.
"You do not haveHis wordabidingin you, for you do not believeHim whomHe sent.
[And Philipsaid,"Ifyou believewith allyour heart,you may."And he answeredand said,"I believethat JesusChristis the Sonof God.]"
The SpiritHimselftestifieswith our spiritthat we are childrenof God,
NowI say,as longas the heiris a child,he does not differat allfrom a slavealthough he is ownerof everything,
Becauseyou are sons,Godhas sent forththe Spiritof His Soninto our hearts,crying,"Abba!Father!"
For you have diedand your lifeis hiddenwith Christin God.
Take care,brethren,that there not be in any oneof you an evil,unbelievingheartthat falls awayfrom the livingGod.
[So] we havethe propheticword[made] more sure,to whichyou dowellto pay attentionas to a lampshiningin a darkplace,untilthe daydawnsand the morning stararisesin your hearts.
Ifwe saythat we have not sinned,we makeHim a liarand His wordis not in us.
Whoeverbelievesthat Jesusis the Christis bornof God,and whoeverlovesthe Fatherlovesthe [child] bornof Him.
Sothe dragonwas enragedwith the woman,and went offto makewarwith the restof her children,who keepthe commandmentsof Godand holdto the testimonyof Jesus.
He who hasan ear,let him hearwhatthe Spiritsaysto the churches.To him who overcomes,to him I will give[some] of the hiddenmanna,and I will givehim a whitestone,and a newnamewrittenon the stonewhichno oneknowsbut he who receivesit.'
and I will givehim the morningstar.
