Ifsomeonesays,"I loveGod,"and hateshis brother,he is a liar;for the one who does not lovehis brotherwhomhe has seen,cannotloveGodwhomhe has not seen.
"By thisall menwill knowthat you are My disciples,ifyou havelovefor one another."
and though you have not seenHim, you loveHim, and though you do not seeHim now,but believein Him, you greatly rejoicewith joyinexpressibleand full of glory,
Ifwe saythat we havefellowshipwith Him and [yet] walkin the darkness,we lieand do not practicethe truth;
Ifwe saythat we havenosin,we are deceivingourselvesand the truthis not in us.
But the one who hateshis brotheris in the darknessand walksin the darkness,and does not knowwherehe is goingbecausethe darknesshas blindedhis eyes.
The one who says,"I have come to knowHim," and does not keepHis commandments,is a liar,and the truthis not in him;
The one who sayshe is in the Lightand [yet] hateshis brotheris in the darknessuntilnow.
But whoeverhasthe world'sgoods,and seeshis brotherin needand closeshis heartagainsthim, howdoes the loveof Godabidein him?
No onehas seenGodat any time;ifwe loveone another,Godabidesin us, and His loveis perfectedin us.
