You have given us like sheep for food, and have scattered us among the nations.

But none of these things move me, neither do I count my life dear to myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus Christ, to testify fully the gospel of the grace of God.

And the content of the Scripture which he read was this: "He was led as a sheep to the slaughter, and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so He opened not His mouth.

And why are we also in danger every hour?

Day by day I die, by your rejoicing, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord.

For I think that God has set forth us last, the apostles, as it were appointed to death; for we have become a spectacle to the world and to angels and to men.

But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, so that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead;

Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as beside myself,) I am more! I have been in labors more abundantly, in stripes above measure, in prisons more, in deaths many times.

as unknown and yet well known; as dying and, behold, we live; as chastened and not killed;

that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable to His death;
