For he who serves Christ in these things is well-pleasing to God, and approved by men.

If you do well, shall you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin crouches at the door; and its desire is for you, and you shall rule over it.

Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God now is pleased with your works.

As a man going away, leaving his house, and giving authority to his servants, and each man's work to him, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch.

If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there also My servant shall be. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

but in every nation he who fears Him and works righteousness is accepted with Him.

As to diligence, not slothful, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;

Who are you that judges another's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. But he will stand, for God is able to make him stand.

For they who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches they deceive the hearts of the simple.

But now, being made free from sin, and having become slaves to God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end everlasting life.

For he who is called a slave in the Lord is a freed man of the Lord. And likewise, he who is called a free man is a slave of Christ.

But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor adulterating the Word of God, but by the revelation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men. But we are revealed to God, and I trust also that we are revealed in your consciences.

Therefore we are also laboring to be well-pleasing to Him, whether at home or away from home.

but in everything commending ourselves as God's servants, in much patience, in troubles, in emergencies, in distresses,

providing for honest things, not only before the Lord, but also before men.

But I have all, and abound. I have been filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things which you sent, an odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable and well-pleasing to God.

Finally, my brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are right, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think on these things.

knowing that from the Lord you shall receive the reward of the inheritance. For you serve the Lord Christ.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to be godly to their own house, and give back to their forebears what is due them; for that is good and pleasing before God.

having your conduct honest among the nations, in that which they speak against you as evildoers, they may glorify God in a day of His visitation, seeing your good works.

For what glory is it if you patiently endure while sinning and being buffeted? But if you suffer while doing good, and patiently endure, this is a grace from God.

you also as living stones are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

having a good conscience, that while they speak against you as evildoers they may be shamed, those falsely accusing your good behavior in Christ.
