You have planted them; yea, they take root. They grow, yea, they make fruit. You are near in their mouth and far from their reins.

Yet I planted you a noble vine, wholly a true seed. How then have you turned into the degenerate shoots of an alien vine to Me?

And I sent the hornet before you, which drove them out from before you, the two kings of the Amorites, not with your sword, nor with your bow.
