And David spoke to Jehovah the words of this song in the day Jehovah had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul.

You are my hiding-place and my shield; I hope in Your Word.

Deliver me, O Jehovah, from my enemies; I flee to You to hide me.

The sorrows of hell surrounded me; the snares of death confronted me.

Jehovah also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
