Will you trust him because his strength is great? Or will you leave your labor to him?

A crying for wine is in the streets; all joy is darkened, the gladness in the land has gone.

And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the sons of the east, even they came up against them.

And Israel was made very poor because of the Midianites. And the sons of Israel cried to Jehovah.

And the men of Israel beyond the valley, and who were on the other side Jordan, saw that the men of Israel fled and that Saul and his sons had died. And they abandoned the cities and fled. And the Philistines came and lived in them.
