Let the proud be ashamed; for they perverted my cause with lying; I will think on Your Commandments.

But his delight is only in the Law of Jehovah; and in His Law he meditates day and night.

And they surrounded me with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.

I will think on Your Commandments and have respect to Your ways.

You have rebuked the proud who are cursed, who go astray from Your Commandments.

Princes also sat and spoke against me; but Your servant thought on Your Precepts.

The proud have utterly scorned me; yet I have not turned aside from Your Law.

Yea, let none who wait on You be ashamed; let them be ashamed who sin without cause.

Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor together, those who magnify themselves over me.

For without cause they have spread their net for me in a pit-net; without cause they have dug for my soul.

They who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; they who would destroy me are mighty, my lying enemies. Then I restored what I did not take away.

And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up. And I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall burn up everything all around him.

But that the Word might be fulfilled that is written in their Law, "They hated Me without a cause."

For what glory is it if you patiently endure while sinning and being buffeted? But if you suffer while doing good, and patiently endure, this is a grace from God.

And he said to David, You are more righteous than I, for you have rewarded me with good, but I have rewarded you evil.

And he said, Why does my lord pursue after his servant this way? For what have I done? Or what evil is in my hand?
