The wicked have laid a snare for me; yet I do not go astray from Your Commandments.

With all my heart I have sought You; do not let me wander from Your Commandments.

You have rebuked the proud who are cursed, who go astray from Your Commandments.

The proud have utterly scorned me; yet I have not turned aside from Your Law.

The proud have dug pits for me, which are not according to Your Law.

They had almost finished me on earth; but I did not forsake Your Commandments.

The wicked have waited for me to destroy me; but I will think on Your testimonies.

The proud have hidden cords and a trap for me; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set snares for me. Selah.

Keep me from the traps which they have laid for me, and the snares of the workers of evil.

But like a deaf one, I do not hear; and I am like a dumb one who opens not his mouth.

My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise.

Let a cry be heard from their houses, when You suddenly bring a raiding party on them. For they have dug a pit to take me, and have hidden snares for my feet.

And when he had learned that the document was signed, Daniel went to his house. And his windows were open in his roof room toward Jerusalem; and he kneeled on his knees three times a day and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did before.
