To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. I put my trust in Jehovah; how can you say to me, Flee like a bird to the mountains;

Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped.

Surely He will deliver you from the fowler's trap and from the destroying plague.

Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird,

I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles, and by the does of the field, do not stir up or awake my Love until He please.

My Beloved is like a roe or a young hart. Behold, He stands behind our wall, He looks forth at the windows, peering from the lattice.
