My son, hear and be wise, and guide your heart in the way.
Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to the words of knowledge.
My son, give Me your heart, and let your eyes watch My ways.
Ponder the path of your feet, and all your ways will be established.
Go to the ant, sluggard; consider her ways and be wise;
Forsake the foolish and live; and go in the way of understanding.
And they shall say to the elders of his city, this son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey our voice. He is a glutton and a drunkard.
Only take heed to yourself and keep your soul carefully, lest you forget the things which your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. But teach them to your sons, and your sons' sons.
