The king's heart is in the hand of Jehovah as the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He will.

By the way that he came, by the same he shall return, and shall not come into this city, says Jehovah.

And in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, so that the Word of Jehovah by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, Jehovah stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,

So says Cyrus king of Persia, Jehovah, the God of Heaven has given me all the kingdoms of the earth. And He has commanded me to build Him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

And they kept the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days with joy. For Jehovah had made them joyful, and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria to them, to make their hands strong in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.

O Jehovah, I pray You, let now Your ear be open to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who desire to fear Your name. And I pray You, bless Your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. (For I was the king's cupbearer.)

And the king said to me, For what do you ask? So I prayed to the God of Heaven,

and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, so that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which belong to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house into which I shall enter. And the king granted me what I asked, according to the good hand of my God upon me.

And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she rose in grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins. And he set the royal crown on her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.

He turned their heart to hate His people, to deal craftily with His servants.

And He gave them to tender mercies before the face of all their captors.

The sea saw it and fled; Jordan was driven back.

What ailed you, O sea, that you fled? O Jordan, that you turned back,

You divide the fountain and the flood; You dry up mighty rivers.

Jehovah on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, than the mighty waves of the sea.

And I will harden Pharaoh's heart and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt.

The ordering of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from Jehovah.

A man's heart plans his way, but Jehovah directs his steps.

Man's steps are of Jehovah; how can a man then understand his own way?

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall sprout; shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.

who says to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up your rivers;

Take him, and set your eyes on him, and do him no evil. But do with him even as he shall say to you.

And all the people of the earth are counted as nothing; and He does according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the people of the earth. And none can strike His hand, or say to Him, What are You doing?

and plucked him out from all his afflictions, and He gave him favor and wisdom over against Pharaoh king of Egypt. And he appointed him governor over Egypt and all his household.

And the sixth angel poured out his vial on the great river Euphrates. And its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the rising of the sun might be prepared.

And the third angel poured out his vial on the rivers and fountains of waters, and they became blood.
