How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver!

For what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and what I give is better than choice silver.

For wisdom is a defense, and money is a defense; but the excellency of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.

Wisdom is the main thing; get wisdom; and with all your getting get understanding.

So is he who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.

Therefore I love Your Commandments above gold; yea, even fine gold.

For the profit from it is better than the gain from silver, and its produce more than fine gold;

Get wisdom, get understanding; forget not; nor turn away from the words of my mouth.

if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures,

Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gets understanding.
