He who gathers in summer is a wise son; but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.

He who deals with a lazy hand becomes poor; but the hand of the hard worker makes rich.

Blessings are on the head of the just; but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

A woman of virtue is a crown to her husband, but she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.

A wise servant shall have rule over a son who causes shame, and shall have part of the inheritance among the brothers.

He who assaults his father and chases away his mother is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.

When the hay is removed, and the tender grass is seen, and mountain-plants are gathered,

the ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their food in the summer;

Go to the ant, sluggard; consider her ways and be wise;

provides her food in the summer and gathers her food in the harvest.
