The pride of your heart has deceived you, dwelling in the clefts of the rock, his dwelling is lofty; saying in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?

Your dreadfulness has deceived you, and the pride of your heart, O you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill. Though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there, says Jehovah.

A man's pride shall bring him low; but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Though his honor mounts up to the heavens, and his head reaches to the clouds,

Behold, I am against you, O dweller of the valley, rock of the plain, says Jehovah; those who say, Who shall come down against us? Or who shall enter into our homes?

So says Jehovah: Do not deceive yourselves, saying, The Chaldeans shall surely depart from us. For they shall not depart.

O you who dwell in Moab, leave the cities and live in the rock, and be like the dove making her nest in the sides of the mouth of the pit.

And Esau lived in Mount Seir. Esau is Edom.

By the multitude of your goods they have filled your midst with violence, and you have sinned. So I cast you profaned from the height of God, and I destroy you, O covering cherub, from among the stones of fire.
