Now at that feast the governor was accustomed to release to the people a prisoner, whomever they desired.
But Festus, wanting to please the Jews, answered Paul and said, Will you go up to Jerusalem and be judged there before me about these things?
But after two years Felix welcomed a successor, Porcius Festus. And wishing to show a favor to the Jews, Felix left Paul bound.
Then he delivered Him up to them that He might be crucified. And they took Jesus and led Him away.
Therefore I will chastise Him and release Him.
But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.
And they then had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas.
