(For it was necessary for him to release one to them at the feast.)

Now at that feast the governor was accustomed to release to the people a prisoner, whomever they desired.

And at that feast he released to them one prisoner, whomever they desired.

Therefore I will chastise Him and release Him.

And they all cried out at once, saying, Away with this One! And release to us Barabbas

But you have a custom that I should release one to you at the Passover. Then do you desire that I release to you the king of the Jews?
