For what father of you, if the son asks for bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a snake for a fish?
Can a woman forget her suckling child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, they may forget, yet I will not forget you.
Or if he asks a fish, will he give him a snake?
Or what man is there of you, if his son asks a loaf, will he give him a stone?
For everyone who asks receives. And he who seeks finds. And to him who knocks it shall be opened.
Or if he shall ask for an egg, will he give him a scorpion?
