Jehovah was like an enemy; He swallowed up Israel; He has swallowed up all her palaces, and destroyed His strongholds. And He has increased mourning and weeping in the daughter of Judah.

And Samuel said, Why then do you ask me, since Jehovah has left you and has become your enemy?

He has also kindled His wrath against me, and to Himself He counts me as His enemy.

All who pass by the way plunder him; he is a curse to his neighbors.

But they rebelled, and troubled His Holy Spirit; therefore He was turned to be their enemy, and He fought against them.
