And now, O Jehovah, I beseech You, take my life from me. For better is my death than my life.

And he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he begged for his life, that he might die. And he said, It is enough. O Jehovah, take away my life. For I am no better than my fathers.

A good name is better than precious ointment, and the day of death than the day of one's birth.

Do not be hasty in your spirit to be angry; for anger rests in the bosom of fools.

And the people contended with Moses and spoke, saying, Oh that we had died when our brothers died before Jehovah!

But I have used none of these things, nor have I written these things that it should be done so to me; for it is good for me rather to die than that anyone nullify my glorying.
