Then the Jews murmured about Him, because He said, I am the bread which came down from Heaven.
I am the Bread of life.
For the bread of God is He who comes down from Heaven and gives life to the world.
And there was much murmuring among the crowd concerning Him, for some said, He is a good man; others said, No, but he deceives the crowd.
From this time many of His disciples went back into the things behind, and walked no more with Him.
Then when they had heard, many of His disciples said, This is a hard saying, who can hear it?
These are murmurers, complainers, leading lives according to their lusts. And their mouth speaks proud things, admiring faces for the sake of gain.
This is the Bread which came down from Heaven, not as your fathers ate the manna, and died; he who partakes of this Bread shall live forever.
Jesus therefore answered and said to them, Do not murmur with one another.
And seeing, they all murmured, saying, He has gone in to stay with a sinful man.
And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receives sinners and eats with them.
But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against His disciples, saying, Why do you eat and drink with tax-collectors and sinners?
Nor murmur as some of them also murmured and were destroyed by the destroyer.
And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who are you?
